The Destruction of The Middle Class

As I was reading this article it reminded me of exactly why I started Save The Middle Class.

True Story Of A Foreclosure Nightmare

Sat Oct 27, 2007 at 06:15:45 PM PDT

This is the story of someone facing a mortgage foreclosure, someone who is trying desperately to work with the mortgage company to work out payment.  The problem is the mortgage company is unwilling to bend at all and this is not even related to the subprime disaster.  This is happening to my family but it could easily be any of millions of other families facing the same situation. Let me give you the details.

Foreclosures, Ballot Initiatives and the 2008 Race

Mon Aug 13, 2007 at 04:44:18 PM PDT

Cross posted at my site Save The Middle Class.

I was listening to 7 Days In America on Air America Radio when I heard Bob Shrum say this election was going to be about national security. My first thought was what was Bob Shrumstill doing talking about politics. He has been involved with 8 Presidential campaigns and all were losers. His opinions are about as valid as Britney Spears.

Michael Bloombergs 421-A Problem

Thu Jun 21, 2007 at 09:54:50 AM PDT

This is an updated diary from yesterday.

Please visit my site Save The Middle Class

I was walking through Manhattan Sunday on a hot summer day. It seemed everywhere you looked there was new apartment construction. All the signs told of exquisite bathrooms, extra large windows and other luxury features. I thought maybe this is the time I can finally move into the city from the suburbs. There was one major problem with my dream, I could not afford even the smallest units available.

The Unknown Tax Break For The Wealthy and its Connection To The Declining Dollar

Tue Jun 19, 2007 at 10:51:08 AM PDT

I had posted this yesterday and decided to post again today because I felt not enough people saw this.  I consider this a big issue and a symptom of a large problem that is killing our middle and working classes.

Tax Abatements for the Rich

Mon May 07, 2007 at 12:20:15 PM PDT

This will be a short diary highlighting the inequalities in the NYC housing market.  After discovering this inequity, I felt it was important to make the Daily Kos community aware of it.  I am sure that this type of abuse exists in other cities and I would like to expose them.

Bloggers Wanted

Wed May 02, 2007 at 10:52:47 AM PDT

I recently started a website called www.savethemiddleclass.com.  Currently it is just a blog with almost no readership.  I want to build it into a movement targeting the middle class.

Taking Away Lieberman's Power

Thu Jan 11, 2007 at 06:54:33 AM PDT

we all know that Joe Lieberman is a liar and an opportunist with no morals and we also know that as the one member that tips the power to the Democrats he is virtually untouchable.  We need to concentrate our efforts on flipping one Republican to the Democratic column or to the Independent column and then remove Lieberman from all his committees and make him irrelevant.  I think we should concentrate our efforts on two Senators.

The Florida Homeowners Crisis and why we all need to care

Mon Jan 08, 2007 at 12:22:44 PM PDT

I have been insured for 20 years with Allstate on a home I own in Spring Hill, Fl.  My nightmare started two months ago when I was told despite never having made a claim that my policy was not being renewed.  Allstate arranged for us to keep our insurance through another company, Royal Palm Insurance.  That doesn’t sound too bad but the reality was a 300% increase in our premium and close to no other options but to pay.

Clean Elections Through Ballot Initiatives

Wed Nov 15, 2006 at 10:43:19 AM PDT

Even with the great wins on Election Day it is very obvious that changes are needed before 2008 if we are to get a clean election.  Congress seems blind to the problem and even with a new Congress the chances of broad changes seem slim.  The netroots need to attack this problem at the state level by ballot initiative in 2007.  Follow me below the fold for my ideas.

Is It Time For Mandatory Voting?

Sat Oct 28, 2006 at 03:47:54 PM PDT

I have recently come back from my fifth trip to Brazil where my partner lives and have had the opportunity to discuss their system of mandatory voting and I wondered "Is it time for mandatory voting here in America?"

The Great opportunity for Democratic pickup in NY

Wed Oct 04, 2006 at 07:22:29 AM PDT

This year New York can help turn the Congress Democratic with what I believe are five great pick up opportunities in the state.  Republicans in NY have no reason to go to the polls.  A strong Democratic get out the vote effort can provide 33% of the needed seats to retake the house.  I will explain why after the jump.

Help Elect A Progressive To The Utah State Senate

Fri Sep 29, 2006 at 11:33:44 AM PDT

Emily Hollingshead is the progressive candidate for Utah Senate District 28 which covers a huge 6 county area of Southern Utah. She has made this race competitive in a solidly Republican district.

10 things you need to believe to be a Republican today

Tue Sep 19, 2006 at 11:39:25 AM PDT

I recently read the list of things you need to believe to be a Republican today by Ann Richards.  I thought I would create a new list as a tribute to her memory.
